Dispatcher - Masterton

We currently have a vacancy in our Masterton Hub for a Dispatcher.
Reporting to the Masterton Hub Manager, the dispatcher role is critical within McCarthy Transport. It is through the accurate planning and organisation of the trucks by the dispatcher that determines the revenue for the company. This position is exciting, challenging and requires problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking. You will have exceptional attention to detail, seeing how detail contributes to ‘the big picture’.
You will have excellent communication skills to enable you to support drivers, managers, crews and customers. This is a high-paced role, ensuring maximum profitability for each unit. Your best-laid plans can change within moments, so the ability to think on your feet is key. Are you up for the challenge?

Workshop Manager | Heavy Vehicle - Whanganui
McCarthy Transport Contractors Limited has a fleet of over 125 modern log truck and trailer units based throughout the Lower North Island with 3 major hubs in Whanganui, Karioi and Masterton. We are a proud family run and owned business with more than 70 years' experience in our field. McCarthy Transport are looking for a professional, passionate, organised and dynamic Workshop Manager to join our team in Whanganui.
The Workshop Manager role is an integral position within the McCarthy Transport Team. The primary purpose of this role is to lead the Whanganui and Karioi team of Mechanics ensuring that our fleet is always safe and compliant.
We are looking for a person who has a good understanding of working to tight timeframes, carrying out assigned tasks to a high quality and standard whilst maintaining a safe work and team orientated environment.
The key responsibilities will be included below:
• Ensure quality and safety standards of repairs are met
• Schedule repairs ensuring necessary resources are available
• Manage operation of Whanganui and Karioi workshop to ensure fleet meet COF compliance standards are met
• Ensure all workshop documentation is completed and processed
• Train, assess and maintain competency and workplans for workshop staff
• Maintain a sense of team spirit and teamwork amongst workshop staff.
Qualification and Skill Requirements:
• Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Technician
• Experience working on trucks in a workshop
• Understanding of technical mechanical requirements in heavy vehicles
• Experience leading a successful team culture is advantageous.
• Full drivers’ licence, class 2-5 advantageous but not required
The successful candidate will need to have strong computer literacy, with the ability to use workshop software and Microsoft Office Suite without an issue. Good communication skills and time management is a must.
